To get right down to it…here’s the one thing to help you identify an E26 bulb…the screw thread base. Look for a 26mm thread diameter.
Don’t get confused by the shape of the bulb, as lots of types can use an E26 base. The E26 is actually in reference to the bulbs thread portion, or the bottom of the bulb that screws into a light fixture.
The “E” in E26 refers to the Edison Screw, which originated with Thomas Edison. This happens to be the standard that’s widely used.

A19 is a term that describes the overall shape and size of a light bulb. Specifically, the bulb should be roughly pear-shaped , and have a length of 100-110 mm and a width of approximately 60 mm.
E26 refers to the lamp base, and does not provide us with any information about the shape of the bulb. An E26 screw-in bulb has a 26 millimeter diameter screw as its mounting method, but the lamp itself can be of a variety of shapes and sizes.
The standards that govern the dimensions and design of A19 light bulbs also dictate that it must use an E26 screw base. In other words, all A19 light bulbs also have an E26 base.

But how does the equation higher quality and lower price add up? “First and foremost, we have streamlined the supply since we have learnt what our customers want. Fewer types mean that they’re more cost-efficient to produce, ” tells Gizem Harut, Product Developer in Lighting. “And with good suppliers, we can contribute to developing the business so that the components for the light bulbs always improve.”
Ever since we first introduced LED bulbs, we’ve continued to test and develop them, but SOLHETTA is a massive leap forward. “Since they’re roughly 25% more energy-efficient than previous versions you save money on your electricity bill.” Another improvement is that each light bulb lasts longer, up to 25, 000 hours. “Let’s say you have your light on for a couple of hours per day; then you don’t have to change the light bulb for another 20 years. It also means that significantly fewer light sources need to be produced and discarded.”
All man-made light is actually an imitation of the best light source in the universe – the sun. Also indoors, we want as good light quality as possible, and CRI (Color Rendering Index) is a way to measure how well a light source reproduces colors. It’s measured from 0 to 100 CRI, where 100 is perfect daylight. “In the work with SOLHETTA we’ve managed to improve the color reproduction of the LED light to 90 CRI in all types but one that measures 80 CRI. It gives a more natural and pleasant feeling – and shows the true colors of your home.”If you're looking to purchase a new bulb, you may have come across the term E26 - but you might be unsure as to what it means. The term E26 refers to a light bulb's cap or base - the bulb component that allows for both electrical and mechanical contact. The letter E in E26 refers to Edison Screw, the most standard of lamp bases, while the numerical 26 refers to its diameter in millimeters (approximately 1 inch).
You can most instantly recognize an E26 bulb by looking at the bottom, or non-light emitting side of the bulb. If you see a metallic base with screw threads, approximately 1 inch in diameter, you most likely have an E26 bulb. Another way to be sure is to check the printing on the bulb - along with the wattage and brightness, manufacturers will usually print E26 to ensure they are safely used with appropriate
